Overview: Director of Information Technology
At Medical Guardian, the Director of Information Technology, with focus on Data & Analytics, is a key leadership role responsible for driving the strategic and operational data initiatives that support the company's objectives. This position leads our centralized data team, directing the enhancement of our data infrastructure, including the expansion of our data warehouse, and spearheading advanced analytics and AI-driven initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and oversee the development and management of the company's data reporting and analytical services using advanced tools such as dbt and Power BI.
- Collaborate closely with business units and leaders to define and support key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that optimize business operations.
- Use deep analytics to provide insights that drive decision-making and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Develop and implement data strategies that align with the company’s objectives and drive competitive advantage.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and data protection regulations such as CCPA and HIPAA.
- Collaborate with IT management, and business leaders to prioritize data projects and ensure their alignment with organizational goals.
- Champion the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and advanced methodologies in data analysis and predictive analytics to drive innovation and improve decision-making processes.
- Lead the integration of AI and machine learning technologies to enhance predictive analytics and automate processes, driving actionable insights and strategic business advantages.
- Work with VP of IT to develop and manage budgets for data operations and technology enhancements.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the data and analytics function that align with business objectives and regularly report these metrics to senior executives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the data team, encouraging attendance at industry conferences and workshops.
- Manage hiring, training, and professional development of data team staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in data management and analytics, with strong expertise in data engineering and managing data warehouses.
- Strong background in leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to enhance data analysis, generate predictive insights, and drive operational efficiencies.
- Proficiency in modern data tools and platforms such as dbt, Power BI, SQL, and programming languages like Python or R.
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing data warehouse solutions, with a strong grasp of data warehousing methodologies, data modeling, and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and implementing large-scale data projects.
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record in strategic planning and team management.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior management and other department heads.
Work Hours and Travel Requirements:
You must be open to assisting in troubleshooting and analysis in the event of off-hours production problems, as needed. The IT Team works in a hybrid environment that requires a minimum of two days per week in the Philadelphia office.
