Benefits & Compensation Manager

As a Benefits and Compensation Manager, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day management and administration of our group's benefit and compensation programs. Your strategic approach will be essential in ensuring that our benefits and compensation offerings effectively meet the diverse needs of our employee population.

By your key position in our company, you will support our environmental and social initiatives to drive progress against our corporate social responsibility and B Corp certification ambitions.

What you will Do:

  • Administer a comprehensive range of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, HSAs, and other relevant programs for both exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Assist in managing our compensation program, including Long-Term Incentive (LTI) plans, annual bonus structures, and providing support in financial forecasting related to bonus plan costs.
  • Coordinate employee health and wellness initiatives and events to promote a culture of well-being and engagement within the workforce.
  • Work closely with employees to understand their needs, providing informed guidance and support in navigating benefit and compensation options effectively.
  • Act as a key point of contact for day-to-day benefit administration, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and liaising with internal HR teams, benefit providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure compliance in the administration of our benefits plans and ensure management of invoices in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain our salary structure with new positions or changed roles and support salary benchmarking to update our compensation data.
  • Partner with the group compensation team to align compensation practices globally.
Key Deliverables
  • Complete Annual enrollment
  • Complete Annual bonus goal setting process
  • Management and administration of employee benefit records including HRIS database.
  • Process invoices and oversee billing processes including reconciliation, resolving billing errors, eligibility issues, and adjustments for all benefit plans including 401k and COBRA
  • Manage administration and transmission of weekly benefit provider file feeds.
  • Perform benefit audits and data analysis by monitoring employee coverage changes to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain benefit information and policies on internal communication resources, and develop new communication materials, strategies, and project plans to enhance employees understanding of benefit offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5-7 years benefits analyst/administration experience.
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or other benefits specific certifications are preferred.
  • Proficient in use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google (mail, calendar, drive, docs, sheets, slides), and HRIS.
  • Human Resource experience in manufacturing/retail or similar workforce context where the workforce speaks multiple languages.
  • Works effectively and efficiently towards goals in a complex, fast paced, and diverse environment with changing demands.

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence decision making.
  • Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise.

  • Ability to position self as credible; proactive; and a trusted thought-partner.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to balance business partnering skills with employee advocacy.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism on confidentiality of employee and/or company information.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks.
  • Ability to understand the business operations and workforce.
  • Manufacturing/retail experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting front-line, field-based client groups is required; Practicing HR in a manufacturing or distribution center environment is preferred.
  • Proactively reviews benefit/compensation programs and policies, looking for opportunities to create new or improve established programs from a multi-site nationwide perspective.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization.
  • A proven track record of results with a bias for action
  • A passion for learning and a craving to work in a fun culture.
  • Strong MS Office Skills—particularly Excel
