Activities Coordinator
The Activities Coordinator is responsible for creating and deploying engaging programs to guests of NHF.
Examples may include painting, crafts, exercise, journaling, etc. Activities Coordinator will create cost expectations based on the activity and guest participation for approval. The Activities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining programs relevant that are engaging and educational for our NHF guests.Will work with locations Directors and RVPS’s on the programs acceptable for the demographics of the locations. The Activities Coordinator will oversee and manage our volunteer program. Will provide volunteer needs and scheduling needs based on the programs and activities per location.
Responsibilities and Initiatives- The Activities Coordinator is responsible for creating and developing engaging programs for our guests.
- Activities Coordinator will provide expected costs of the activities for approval.
- Activities Coordinator will create an activities calendar for each of our locations based Quarterly, and Yearly, for approval.
- The Activities Coordinator is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with guests and an active familiarity member of the community.
- Will work closely with directors and management, to design, programs unique to our guest needs, ability and population.
- May Engage in a community assessment process, including surveying guest residents and identifying community assets and partners.
- Coordinate and implement programs and services that meet the needs of the residents both directly and through partnerships with city partners.
- Work in collaborative and productive partnerships with volunteer group and staff, and guests to implement programs and services.
- Design, market, and provide programs and services that promote good physical and mental health, positive social development, and strong community performance for all guests.
- May partner with other departments in providing supportive services to include benefits counseling and advocacy, mental health care and support for physical health, and substance abuse services.
- May work with outside agencies to promote outside activities for guests.
- Oversee Volunteer performance as identified for specific sites; provide training as needed to deliver services and resolve issues.
- Report monthly activities and expenditures, prepare written reports and correspondence on program impact, and update data systems as needed.
- Arrange guest travel by various modes for activities outside the facilities.
- Always follows NHF policies and procedures.
Requirements
Creative Skills: Strong creative skills to develop activities relevant to our population.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent relationship-building and communication skills to establish trust with guests, locations directors and outside supporting agencies.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage schedules, coordinate presentations and support via volunteer or staff.Flexibility: Willingness to travel locally to sites working within the site availability and locations.
Professionalism: Strong sense of accountability, reliability, and dedication to representing the organization positively.
Environment:
The work environment will usually be in a recreational room or common area where guests gather. The work will require ability to support set up of activities and clean up – ability to lift up to 20 lbs.- 2-3 years’ experience in similar role in a health care or non-profit setting preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Operating system and database applications; knowledge of CRM software, and website content management systems a plus, but not required.
- Power Point: Needed to create engaging power point presentations.
- Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes to meet the needs of the facility.
- Must be able to aid other NHF facilities as assigned by supervisor when the need arises.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Reliable transportation.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish. (Preferred, not required).
- May require for some locations TB test required.
- May require Fingerprint live scan/background.
- Always follow NHF policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an office environment as well as outside lunch areas or recreational rooms and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, and telephones. Work is performed at a desk ability to work in an office setting.Will do activities outside lunch area park like setting.
