HR Assistant - Los Angeles

We are seeking an HR Assistant to become a part of our team in the Social Care/Services industry based in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will be tasked with supporting the Human Resources department by handling day-to-day responsibilities and providing administrative support to the Director of Talent Management and Engagement.

This role offers a contract to employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the Human Resources Department, providing support to the Director of Talent Management and Engagement
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements, labor laws, and other regulations governing employment records by maintaining all electronic personnel files
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports on various aspects such as in-service statements, licenses, certifications, I-9 verification, and federal and state posting requirements
  • Assist with new employee procedures, including scheduling pre-employment appointments, tracking pre-employment background clearances, and updating status within Paycom
  • Participate in and provide data for internal and external audits
  • Maintain and audit a badge system in PremiSys to ensure accurate and current information
  • Support with project tasks such as preparing training materials and manuals, creating PowerPoint presentations, and assisting in complex report preparation. • Proven experience in the Social Care/Services industry
  • Solid understanding of HR (Human Resources) principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Human Resources (HR) Administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in using HR software and computer applications
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-stress situations professionally
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Willingness to stay updated on the latest HR trends and best practices.
