Utility Coordinator

We are actively seeking a Utility Coordinator to join our team. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
- Providing utility expertise to various departments, consultant firms, and contractors, and act as general liaison with the Utility Industry.
- Identification of existing / proposed utility facilities on local, state, and federal projects.
- Assist with determining approximate utility cost and schedule impacts due to various conceptual design schemes.
- Resolution of conflicts between utility facilities and proposed roadway design / construction projects.
- Documentation of utility company activities for the project’s special provisions and/or plan notes.
- Securing of executed legal agreements to clear a project for letting as stipulated by State and Federal guidelines.
- Ensure detailed review, analysis, and resolution of utility issues, conflicts, and relocations. This involves coordination with all levels of project management and administration to retain uniformity in the decision process. This task requires direct coordination with utility agencies, and state, local and federal government agencies.
- Analyze utility work schedules for compatibility to the associated FDOT construction schedule.
- Assist in the preparation of miscellaneous presentations, reports, and/or utility conferences as necessary.
- Serve as a liaison between utility agencies, state, and local government on technical matters relating to utility coordination and design, and continual monitoring of effectiveness and efficiency of work effort. Coordinate the exchange of information between utilities and government agencies.
- Ensuring that all utility coordination and activities are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents.
- Scheduling utility meetings, preparing and distributing minutes of all utility meetings, and ensuring expedient follow-up on all unresolved issues.
- Distributing all plans, conflict matrices and changes to affected Utility Agency/Owners and making sure this information is properly coordinated.
- Preparing, reviewing, coordinating the implementation Utility Agreements.
- Resolving utility conflicts.
- Obtaining and maintaining all appropriate “Sunshine State One Call of Florida” tickets.
- Performing Constructability Reviews of plans prior to construction activities with regard to the installation, removal, temporary removal, de-energizing, deactivation, relocation, or adjustment of utilities.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Years of Experience: 4+ years
