Sr. Accountant

We are hiring a Sr. Accountant at our Dallas, Texas location. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for handling the day-to-day accounting for various real estate properties, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger, fixed assets, and debt service payments, and participating in the preparation of annual budgets and reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare property operating statements and accrual journal entries
- Maintain oversight of monthly fixed asset and straight-line-rent schedules
- Effectively coordinate and review monthly variance reports with Property Management
- Prepare annual Operating Expense estimates and Reconciliations
- Play a crucial role in annual audits
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax reports
- Handle special projects and responsibilities as assigned
- Facilitate the completion of annual entity/assets budgets in Yardi as a backup to the Controller
- Ensure correct monthly revenue and expense variance analysis as a backup to the Controller
- Complete quarterly trial balance as a backup to the Controller
- Prepare annual operating expense estimates and reconciliations as a backup to the Controller
- Ensure correct and timely annual personal property tax filings as a backup to the Senior Accountant
- Assist in the management and preparation of all non-asset entity financial reports as a backup to the Senior Accountant
- Support in Month-end and Year-end accounting processes as a backup to the Senior Accountant.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.
- Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is required.
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations is essential.
- Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and procedures.
- Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.
- Experience in Month End Close procedures.
- Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate accounting
- Familiarity with Yardi Software
- Experience in CAM Reconciliation.
- Demonstrated skills in Budgeting and financial planning.
