Legal Assistant Personal Injury Law Firm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our personal injury law firm. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting attorneys by managing case files, communicating with clients, and ensuring the efficient progression of personal injury cases.

This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with preparing, organizing, and managing case files for personal injury matters.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and answer questions about their cases.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Obtain and review medical records, police reports, and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain case management systems, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Conduct legal research and compile findings to assist attorneys with case preparation.
  • Liaise with insurance companies, medical providers, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as billing, correspondence, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court filing requirements and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in legal research and case management software.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive client information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
