Accounting Manager

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team in the retail industry, based in Oak Brook, Illinois. As an Accounting Manager, you will primarily be responsible for managing inventory-related financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and generating financial reports.
Furthermore, you will be overseeing the accounting team and improving our inventory accounting systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory accounting with a special focus on the retail method
- Develop and implement efficient inventory accounting systems
- Analyze and present reports on inventory costs and metrics
- Ensure adherence to GAAP methodologies
- Lead and supervise a team of accounting professionals
- Collaborate with auditing services to facilitate timely audits
- Consult with the management team on budget and financial forecasts
- Record and report financial activities within the organization
- Ensure the use of Accounting Software Systems for efficient operations
- Conduct regular Financial Analysis and Financial Reporting for inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail industry
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions and Auditing
- Experience in Retail sector is a must
- Expertise in Inventory Reconciliation and Inventory Valuation
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience in Inventory Accounting
- Ability to conduct Financial Analysis and Financial Reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
