Applications Specialist
Evaluate applications, generate quotations and provide technical support.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Oversee product application activities for Ernst Instruments, which include but is not limited to:
- A timely and accurate review of the required technical requirements as specified by the customer.
- Assist in identifying customer needs and requirements to better qualify potential prospects for the Company.
- Assist with the generation and creation of sales materials that engage customers and sales staff in a way that makes technical products easy to understand.
- Clearly articulate our products' value and business benefits to customers in quotations, verbal and email correspondence.
- Use a consultative approach to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions that drive long-term business growth.
- Provide technical, installation and troubleshooting consultation with customers and other Ernst Instruments departments.
- Review and analyze customer requirements through plans, emails or verbal discussions to develop and prepare a detailed proposal which describes the type of equipment needed, price, delivery time and financial terms for the product described.
- Inform the customer of unit prices, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information pertinent to the quotation.
- Occasionally enter orders via computerized ERP system and calculate total cost to the customer.
- Review all proposals for compliance with company standards and contract language.
- Maintain quality assurance operations by following quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Monitor customer feedback and ensure timely follow-up to resolve any concerns or issues.
- Work with the team to relay customer feedback and ideas for continuous product improvement.
- May travel to customer sites, however, this will be rare as it is mostly an inside role.
- Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers.
- Comply with policies, procedures, standards, and rules of the Company.
- Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
In lieu of a Bachelors degree, three years experience at a technical level position in a related field is required. Technical sales experience a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills. Proficient in MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint.Ability to handle complex projects and tasks independently within established standards. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities at a time and be self-motivated and proactive. Ability to function and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals.
Ability to type 50 WPM or faster.
Physical and Technical Environment
Minimal lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office and manufacturing environment. Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator.Exposure to varying environments, climates, changing deadlines, and strict time constraints.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English is required.
