We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our team in the non-profit sector based in New York, New York. The BI Engineer will be responsible for leveraging cloud-based Business Intelligence tools and managing complex data analyses.
This role will also involve managing work activities and projects, and drawing insights through data analysis to drive business decisions.
Responsibilities:- Utilize cloud-based Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Azure data stack to drive data-driven decisions.
- Perform significant data transformations using Power Query/M-language within Power BI.
- Write complex calculated measures and columns using DAX to enhance data analysis.
- Implement dynamic Row Level Security in the data model to ensure data privacy and security.
- Gather Business Intelligence requirements, design solutions, and manage application operations and maintenance activities.
- Analyze complex datasets using SQL to derive insights and inform business decisions.
- Plan, organize, and manage work activities or projects, ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
- Informally manage deliverables of others, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Use Dax Technologies, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SQL Server to enhance data visualization and reporting capabilities.
- Draw insights through robust data analysis to inform strategic decision-making. • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Proficient in Dax Technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI required
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL techniques
- Familiarity with data modeling and data visualization
- Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
- Must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be fluent in English.
