Kastle's integrated security solution, including access control, video, and remote video monitoring, significantly reduces costs and improves the critically important 24x7 performance for building owners, developers and tenants.
We are in search for an Installation Technician who will install, test, troubleshoot, and repair all aspects of security systems including access control, Intercom, phone, and IP video systems at customer sites. In this role, you would interact directly with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful install solution.
Responsibilities:
Installation- Installs, tests, and troubleshoots new basic CCTV, access control, and security systems.
- Installs conduit and pull cable for video, data, and power.
- Programs digital video recorders and network video recorders according to client needs.
- Ensures that systems are installed properly and on time in accordance with Kastle's procedures and quality control standards.
- Provides regular progress updates to all stakeholders.
- Provides accurate documentation for completed work.
- Diagnoses CCTV system problems and determines faulty components.
- Works closely with network and IT personnel about IP addressing issues.
- Provides feedback and information to identify any potential barriers to timely execution of projects.
- Communicates with management and project managers to resolve discrepancies.
- Communicates with customers, customer representatives, and contractors to install and test equipment.
- Trains customers on operation of equipment.
- Maintains and protects building keys to customer buildings.
- Provides proper documentation for inventory control and for maintaining proper inventory for vehicles and projects.
- Maintains assigned company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tool issue.
Qualifications:
- 1 or more years’ experience installing:
- commercial access control, video systems, low voltage and commercial wiring/cabling;
- door hardware, electric and mechanical locking devices (rex/mag/strike).
- Knowledge of building codes pertaining to construction and electrical systems.
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Technical/Trade/Vocational school certificate in electronics/electrical is preferred.
- Electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, relay logic, open/close loops) and ability to use digital volt meters.
- Knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocol and Cat5 technologies is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to interface and communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner.
- Self-motivated and excellent attention to detail.
- Must be available to work overtime, weeknights, and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be available to perform end of year and interim inventory counts.
Other Eligibility Requirements:
- Must pass drug test, background check, and any pre-employment tests as applicable.
- Required to maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Required to obtain and be able to maintain various certifications, licenses and/or registrations, in accordance with applicable state laws and as required by the electronic security regulations in the state(s) which they are working.
