Job Description:
The Information Security Specialist plays a crucial role in interpreting and implementing information security policies, standards, and requirements for internal systems. This professional is responsible for redesigning internal processes to protect information from issues such as unauthorized disclosure, use, modification, premature deletion, and unavailability.The role involves providing specialized expertise in areas like penetration testing, accreditation, and risk assessment and mitigation. Responsibilities include developing security plans, conducting certification and accreditation reviews, and establishing comprehensive protection processes for systems and data.
Additionally, the Specialist will assess and mitigate security risks, perform audits, and track security patches and incidents.
Key Skills: The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of certification and accreditation processes, risk management using NIST guidelines, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing. Experience with password protection and application security testing is also essential.
Experience Requirements: A minimum of five years' experience applying security policies, standards, and testing, with at least three years in information security analysis. Preference is given to candidates with three years of recent experience in NIST 800-53, conducting vulnerability assessments, and developing mitigation strategies.
Educational and Certification Requirements: A bachelor's degree in an IT or Engineering field is required, with relevant experience serving as a substitute for formal education. Preferred certifications include Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).
Additional Information: The position requires onsite work at the Headquarters and contractor sites in City of Industry, CA. The 4/40 work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7 AM to 6 PM, with no telework options. Mileage, gas, and cell phone expenses are not reimbursed.The selected candidate will need to undergo a live scan at Client's Headquarters. Local CA residents preferred.
