Bar Manager
Overview:
The Bar Restaurant Manager leads the bar operations in a residential restaurant community, creating a welcoming social atmosphere. This role requires a friendly, service-focused leader with attention to detail and knowledge of food and beverage financials.
Bar Restaurant Manager provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of the Castle Group. He or she performs all responsibilities while demonstrating outstanding customer service skills representative of Castle Royal Service.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Be an active working member of the F&B team and a working bartender on bust nights
- Manage all aspects of the bar, including staffing, inventory, and customer service, to ensure smooth operation.
- Guide and direct team members in position, and step into position when business dictates.
- Write schedules that reflect current business trends and budgets.
- Hold team members accountable to performance standards outlined in Royal Steps of Service.
- Recruit, interview, hire, train and retain qualified team members to serve our residents.
- Follow local, state and federal health standards.
- Adhere to OSHA, ADA, FDA and other state and federal safety standards.
- Monitor and order liquor, mixers, and supplies, ensuring the bar is fully stocked and managing vendor relationships.
- Assist in creating quarterly beverage menus, event driven beverage menus, and occasional catered events for clubs and groups.
- Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and meets all health and safety regulations, including sanitation and safe alcohol handling.
- Address customer complaints, handle difficult situations professionally, and ensure a positive guest experience.
- Participate in board and committee meetings when called upon.
- Size of team may vary depending on site.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Castle’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training, developing and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Have some experience managing a bar, including but not limited to 1-year of experience.
- Basic understanding of cost of goods sold, menu pricing, and financial schedule extension.
- Experience placing food and beverage orders, both in person and online, through major vendors.
- Jigger use and other bar cost and quality controls
- Continuing education will be offered and administered as needed.
- Fluent in English as a primary language
- Experienced in conflict resolution for both guest and team members
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead a team
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Intermediate command of computer hardware/software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of spoken and written language.
