The Business Development Manager performs business development activities and ensures that business and consumer client relationships are developed and expanded within the bank. Responsible for supporting the growth and development of business clients sourced through a self-network or partner referrals.
Analyzes needs of prospects and provides information about the Bank’s products and services that can enhance a client’s business or personal financial position. Collaborates with retail and business banking colleagues and other business partners to cross-sell banking services, discuss.
prospects/referrals and formulate sales strategies.
Product responsibility will include deposit products, cash management, bundled business services and small business lending. The Business Development Manager will provide prospecting support to Retail Banking in the form of supporting calling efforts, onboarding new clients, develop strategies and objectives that include deposits growth, effective business line marketing, cross-sell and goal setting.The Business Development Manager will establish and grow a portfolio of business and consumer clients and provide concierge personal service.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and develop new business and consumer relationships with the Bank from local markets in which the bank serves.
- Responsible for identifying new clients through the development of internal and external referral sources and existing COI network to build a lasting relationship to manage their assets.
- Collaborate with Business Banking Group, Commercial Lenders, Investment Advisors and branch bankers to close and onboard new relationships.
- Proactively and continuously develop partnerships with retail/business banking/cash management. Conduct branch huddles, coach, and train.
- Acts as the client’s trusted advisor. Provide concierge service by offering a unique and exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain client relationships though comprehensive relationship management specifically tailored for each customer.
- Promotes the Bank’s products and services, occasionally developing or helping develop customer appreciation events, plays an active role in community affairs, and maintains a position of high visibility in the Bank’s marketplace.
- Performs related and unrelated duties as may be required.
- Participates in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Seven to ten years relevant banking/management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent plus a minimum of five years’ experience in sales, service, and business development endeavors.
- Proven record of acquiring clients and a deep referral network.
- Ability to display sound judgement, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Individuals must possess excellent customer service, negotiation, analytical, decision-making, networking, and problem- solving skills.
- Liase with business banking, retail and cash management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Generally, refers specific problems to the manager where clarification of policies and procedures is needed.
