Position Description:
Translational Molecular Biomarkers (TMB) is responsible for translating preclinical molecular biomarkers to clinical development across all therapeutic areas and all phases of clinical development at Client Research laboratories. TMB laboratories leverage a diverse array of technologies to develop biomarker assays to help confirm engagement of therapeutic targets and understand mechanisms of drug action and patient response.
The Operations & Logistics group within the TMB organization is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our team. The individual will play a critical role in providing IT and operational support for processes and infrastructure of the clinical biomarker group and the interactions with cross-functional groups supporting Client clinical studies.This role will encompass all aspects of supporting an industry leading clinical laboratory, from supporting histopathology digital image internalization from vendors to using IT platforms that allow for data processing and laboratory data management that will help drive biomarkers and program development strategies.
The individual will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage technology workflows that support the biomarker strategy in Client clinical trials.
- Understand and manage the use of external collaboration tools and cloud computing to support data and image internalization.
- Support teams through processing and reporting of information using various query and database integration tools.
- Understand and support the integration of disparate data sources.
- Manage quality control, process, and associated documentation required to support information management activities.
- Monitor processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain effective communications and relationships with project teams, vendors, and other cross-functional Client teams.
Qualifications:
Education Minimum Requirement:- BA/BS or MS in a scientific, IT or related field of study
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a Scientific, IT or related field of study with 3 plus years of pharmaceutical related experience, OR
- Master's degree or higher in a Scientific, IT or related field of study with 2 plus years of pharmaceutical related experience.
- Understanding of the use of databases and collaboration tools to process and internalize data and images from vendors.
- Experience in utilizing technology and various artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) platforms.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to execute within a matrixed organization and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS S3) and related basic programming including script writing (Python, Linux, and R).
- Familiar with laboratory instrumentation and various tracking systems.
- Familiar with data processing techniques and pipeline building.
- Familiar with laboratory IT systems including different LIMS systems.
- Experience using AI/ML tools and techniques.
