Overview:
Friday 9A-9P and Saturday-Sunday 6A-6P.
The Radiology Tech operates imaging equipment and performs diagnostic x-rays as ordered by the physician and under the guidance of the physician. Assists in preparing the operating/procedure rooms, as needed. Documents duration of radiation and results of tests/examinations in patient's chart.
Responsibilities:
- Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
- Accurately performs radiological exams to department standards including technique, positioning, protocols and administration of contrast material.
- Assures quality of images presented to radiologist for interpretation and consults with doctor to obtain optimum quality.
- Follows protocols and participates in quality control programs, when appropriate.
- Completes assigned procedures in a timely manner and assists in preparing the operating/procedure room for the next procedure.
- Applies the prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions.
- Ensures compliance with all Florida radiological standards and regulations.
- Follows manufacturer’s specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedure.
- Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed. Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate's Degree Radiologic Technology and/or Diploma/Equivalent Radiologic Technology
Additional Information:
- Completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school for degree, ordiploma by which the graduate would qualify as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
Experience:
- 1 year rad tech experience preferred
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist in Florida
- American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Additional Information: BLS, provided by American Heart Association (AHA), required within 30 days of hire.
