Machine Operator - Temp-to-Hire
Join our team! We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Machine Operator to join a growing company. This is a temp-to-hire position with the opportunity for long-term employment.
Pay: $17/hour, or $18/hour with prior steel manufacturing experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Occasional Saturdays may be required during peak periods. Fridays may sometimes end early if 40 hours are met.
Location: Salem, VA
Responsibilities:
- Operate rebar bending machines.
- Operate Bar Wiser and FabMatic automated rebar fabricating machines.
- Shake bars for shear operators.
- Operate rebar shears.
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Perform shop cleanup duties.
- Operate a shop forklift.
- Assist with shop inventory.
- Load and unload trailers.
- Load customer vehicles.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation is required. (If using public transportation, must be able to arrive by 7:00 AM daily.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift heavy materials.
- Ability to read a ruler EXACTLY
- Prior experience operating machinery is preferred.
- Prior steel manufacturing experience a plus for increased pay.
Pay Details: $17.50 to $18.50 per hour
