About the Opportunity

Meadowhawk Biolabs is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Human Resource Manager reporting to the VP of Finance at our Marlborough, MA to perform human resource activities in a fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate is driven, hardworking, willing to learn, dedicated, and passionate about human resources.

Given that we are a newly launched Contract Research Organization (CRO) founded by an experienced team of industry veterans, this ground floor position offers unique opportunities for the successful candidate to contribute meaningfully to the creation and development of our human resource department, to expand their knowledge base by participation in multidisciplinary teams, and to advance their career in capabilities and responsibilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

The Senior Human Resource (HR) Manager at Meadowhawk Biolabs, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization's goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive HR experience, particularly in talent management, employee relations, compliance, and organizational development within a contract resource environment.

The Senior HR Manager will work closely with other departments to ensure the organization has the talent, skills, and culture necessary to deliver exceptional contract resource services.

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
  • - Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives and support organizational growth.
  • Act as a strategic partner to leadership, offering insight and guidance on talent management, succession planning, and workforce optimization.
  • Lead HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
  • - Oversee full-cycle recruitment processes for key roles across the organization.
  • Implement effective onboarding, training, and development programs to ensure employees are set up for success.
  • Drive performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Employee Relations and Compliance:
  • - Manage employee relations issues, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as industry-specific regulations (especially relevant in contract resource organizations).
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • - Evaluate, design, and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of compensation and benefits practices across the organization.
  • Partner with leadership to manage the annual budget for HR-related initiatives, including compensation reviews and benefit negotiations.
  • Organizational Development and Culture:
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that promote a diverse workforce and an inclusive work environment.
  • Lead change management efforts to support organizational transformation and growth.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting:
  • - Monitor and analyze HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee engagement scores, and recruitment effectiveness, to inform decision-making and improve HR programs.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on HR trends, risks, and opportunities.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Business, or another related field; A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g. SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred. A minimum of (8) eight years of progressive HR experience, including 3 Plus years in a management experience.

Experience working in a contract resource organization, Pharmaceutical/Biotech or similar environment is highly desired. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered as substitution for the specific criteria outlined above.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with Paylocity a plus
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Compensation:

The specific salary for this position may vary and will be based upon factors including, but not limited to the individual’s experience, education, and skills. In addition to salary, Meadowhawk Biolabs provides a full benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off upon hire date.
