Job Duties:

The Residence Manager is responsible for providing daily oversight and support to residents and managing the overall operation of the house. The Residence Manager will work collaboratively with the case managers, social workers, housing specialists, creative arts therapist, Program Supervisor, and Program Director, to ensure residents have the tools and guidance needed to meet their goals in a safe and healing environment that is maintained in a manner conducive to wellness, healing, and growth.

Team/Staff Relations

-Work as part of a team to plan, develop, and implement resident-focused programs, groups, and events aimed at supporting the achievement of resident and program goals;
  • Meet with pertinent staff to discuss matters of mutual concern, elevating critical concerns to the appropriate staff level;

-Communicate with case managers, social service team members, and supervisors on any follow-ups required at the end of the shift by preparing a daily shift report and debriefing with the next shift.

Daily Interaction
  • Interact daily with residents encouraging and supporting their goals of independent living;
-Support residents" positive behavior and address negative behavior with trauma-informed approaches;
  • Instruct residents regarding independent living skills around child care and household management
  • Guide residents regarding independent living skills around household management;
  • Conduct routine inspection rounds of all areas within the facility (common rooms, restrooms, basement etc.) hourly during a shift to ensure residents are engaged in appropriate activities and the environment is safe;
  • Welcome visitors, answer the door and phone. Log all visitors in the visitor's log book;
  • Distribute petty cash and Metro Cards to residents upon request;
  • Maintain petty cash and MetroCard logs.
Environment
  • Clean and prepare bedrooms for new residents and manage laundering of all linen and towels, etc.;
  • Keep appliances, cabinets, and countertops orderly and clean;
  • Mop and sweep floors. Ensure entry and exit doors remain locked and secured at all times;
  • Organize and pack belongings for room turnover after unexpected resident departure;
  • Clean and clear pantry cabinets and client cabinets after unexpected resident departures;
  • Monitor the fire panel for alerts or concerns, inspect fire extinguishers for proper functioning, and identify any smoke detector with a low battery signal (training provided);
  • Make sure supply closets and basement areas are neat and clean;
  • Prepare dinner meals and create menu following CACFP guidelines.
  • Maintain and update schedules: room/bed assignments, logbook, chores, cooking, and laundry assignments.

  • Distribute household cleaning supplies and paper products as necessary;
  • Complete the work order form for repairs, scan it, and send it to the appropriate personnel immediately;
  • Make appropriate calls for emergency repairs and service;

-Ensure the building is in compliance and ready for inspections by city or state-funded agencies.

Incidents
  • Notify appropriate personnel of all incidents, complete incident report forms immediately following the incident, and make necessary emergency phone calls, i.e., EMS, 911, or Fire Department;
  • Call priority one incident to the Program Supervisor or Program Director.

Administrative

-Keep accurate, up-to-date documentation on all clients. Including but not limited to, intake forms, daily logs, fire drills, room inspections, census reports, etc.;
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Assists with any data collection systems;
  • Participate in individual supervisory sessions with your direct supervisor;
  • Attend all service training and workshops or outside training and workshops;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by program leadership as needed.
