Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering, goeasy is seeking a high performing Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) at our Mississauga Head Office. You will help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure and network.

You will be part of a talented team of engineers, who are mainly focused on Infrastructure. This job consists of both Azure Infrastructure and Network management.

What will you be doing?
  • Architect and design improvements or new solutions in Microsoft Azure and alternate cloud environment.
  • Work within a cross-functional team of Cloud Engineers, App Admins, Data Engineers DBA’s and DevOps teams to specify, design, develop, test, and implement cloud services and solutions.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to team members, and promote efficiency, productivity, innovations, and knowledge-sharing across multi-functional teams.
  • Lead DevOps initiatives to streamline environment deployment and maintenance.
  • Support the data solutions team in their operations and projects.
  • Regularly evaluate cloud applications, designs, and best practices.
  • Work closely with internal business partners to gather requirements, design and implement solutions, manage technical operations, and triage and resolve operational issues.
  • Work with internal architecture, infrastructure, governance, and security teams to ensure that all security, governance and business continuity requirements and best practices are integrated and implemented.
  • Continuously improve the triage and escalation process for system availability.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for multiple environments.
  • Identify repetitive tasks and build tools and/or processes for automation.
  • Research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technology trends and best practices.
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist in providing estimates of effort, material costs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What experience do you have?
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination education and related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure Operations with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Azure.
  • Experience administering Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Scripting and coding skills – i.e. PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python.
  • Extensive experience in DevOps practices, with hands on with Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Infrastructure as code (IaC) experience, preferably with Terraform.
  • Expertise in Azure Data Solutions, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Data Lake.
  • Good knowledge of core cloud services such as VMs, Containers, App Services, Virtual Networks, NSGs, Application Gateways, Load balancers and Storage accounts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key technological concepts such as IT architecture, Cloud technologies, applications, network infrastructure, and security is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate solid analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience to install, configure, test, and deploy enterprise and multi-cloud network infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Lean principles such as Scrum, Kanban, MVP etc.
  • Experience managing vendor-provided services including outsourcing arrangements.
  • Experience working within a structured process methodology (i.e. ITIL).
  • Strong systems aptitude demonstrated project management and planning skills; balanced strategic skills with tactical execution skills.

We offer a Flexible Work Program that provides you the ability to work three days onsite per week, between our Mississauga and downtown Toronto office.
