The Role: Software Application Administration Temporary Part-Time Role - Convention Center

Are you looking for an exciting temporary position? With our temporary Software Application Administration role, you will have gained broad experience in various aspects of venue operations, maintenance and application administration. This role will be instrumental in configuring, documenting, and deploying a facilities management application within the organization.

You can also expect to learn through real-world situations and cultivate your leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Expected Experience Gained

Following successful completion of this temporary role, the candidate can expect to have gained the following skills:

  • Identifying business needs for application deployment
  • Building business requirements in a SaaS application
  • Understanding user requirements
  • Understanding reporting requirements
  • Developing reports in a SaaS application
  • Developing user training materials
  • Conducting training and user support of application
  • Essential project management skills

This role will pay an hourly rate of $18.00.

The award-winning Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) welcomes meeting and event planners, exhibitors and attendees to Miami Beach and Miami. Reimagined following a $640-million-dollar renovation, the MBCC provides a world-class, state-of-the-art event venue for exceptional conferences, conventions, tradeshows, and meetings.

A LEED Silver certified green building, the venue includes a magnificent Grand Ballroom, 500,000 square feet of flexible exhibition halls, 4 junior ballrooms, outdoor terraces & parks, and 84 breakout rooms. The MBCC’s immediate proximity to lively South Beach, Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, and many other Miami Beach cultural arts attractions make it an ideal venue for your next event.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Venue Operations team in overseeing proper system configuration to meet internal objectives, including data set-up.
  • Assist in the adoption of the software application and implementation of best practices.
  • Assist with user access management and ensuring accounts maintain proper controls.
  • Assist in the development of monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc account reporting as directed. Reports include, but not limited to, work order activity, scheduled maintenance, service level compliance, and project reporting.
  • Assist in new user training, advanced user training and new feature training as required.
  • Assist in system and user process documentation; developing and maintaining account specific documentation as required.
  • Ensure data quality standards are met and remediation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested in support of the Finance and Software Application team.
  • Gain an understanding of the key elements of venue management and operations on a large scale working with industry professionals.

Estimated time period of role:

  • February 2025 through May 2025
  • 20 hours per week (flexible time blocks from Mon-Fri)

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in an Application Development, Business Administration or Hospitality Management program
  • Demonstrated process orientation and data driven skill sets
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy
  • A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs
  • Ability to plan and manage work priorities appropriately
