Overview:

BAI, a Defense contractor, seeks candidates to serve as DEVOPS Engineers with Cloud Infrastructure and Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipeline experience for a Department of Defense (DoD) program at the Naval Base Point Mugu located near Camarillo, CA.

Salary

The typical annual salary range for this position is $115,000.00 USD to $140,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
  • Perform System monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
  • Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
  • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access
  • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
  • May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
  • Creating and setting up automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Configure aircraft deployment pipeline and produce release charts

Qualifications:

Between 3 to 10 years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description and responsibilities.

3 years’ cloud experience
  • Amazon Web Site (AWS) services – particularly S3
  • Azure or GCP cloud platforms (is a plus)
  • Cloud storage solutions and data migration processes
3 years’ DevOps and DevOps tools experience
  • CICD pipelines agile DevOps workflow – focused on a frequent and reliable software delivery process that is iterative, and allows DevOps teams to write code, integrate it, run tests, deliver releases, and deploy changes to the software collaboratively and in real-time
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
3 years’ containerization, orchestration, and micro-services architecture experience
  • Docker for containerization
  • Kubernetes for container orchestration
  • Helm for Kubernetes package management (for release charts)
3 years’ version control experience
  • Git, especially with GitOps workflows
3 years’ scripting and programming experience
  • Basic to intermediate programming skills
  • Scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalent
  • Java, JavaScript
  • C+, C++, C#, ASP.NET Core, Visual Studio
  • HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) for managing and manipulating relational databases
3 years’ security experience
  • Experience with IL6+ compliance standards and working with sensitive systems
  • Migrating and deploying the latest product to IL6+
3 years’ deployment and migration experience
  • Experience in data migration between different storage systems
  • Knowledge of blue-green deployment or other zero-downtime deployment strategies
3 years’ monitoring and logging experience
  • Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
3 years’ agile methodologies experience
  • Experience working as a Scrum team member
3 years’ soft skills experience
  • Experience working with the Agile software development methodologies and collaborating between self-organizing cross-functional teams to deliver value faster, and with greater quality and predictability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer and organizational level communications, both formal and informal
  • Ability to work independently; self-starter
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams)
Certifications (desired)
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+)

Education

BS or BA degree in a computer or Information Science field or a relevant technical discipline.

An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant associate degree.
