Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our clients team in the Ballston Spa area. You will manage day-to-day financial operations, focusing on accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial transactions while supporting overall financial health.

Responsibilities

• Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper documentation.
• Work with purchasing/receiving to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure timely invoice payments via checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate AP records.

• Generate and send customer invoices accurately and on time.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and ensure prompt payment.
• Reconcile AR accounts and manage cash applications.
• Address billing and payment inquiries in collaboration with sales and customer support.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain financial records and support reporting needs.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Assist with sales tax filings and regulatory requirements.

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of AP/AR experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industries.
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
