Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate financial data. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles, and financial reporting.

General Tasks
  1. Prepare Financial Statements:
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Review and analyze financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
  1. Maintain General Ledger:
  • Post journal entries and update general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
  1. Manage Month-End and Year-End Closing:
  • Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile all accounts and prepare necessary adjustments.
  1. Reconcile Accounts:
  • Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
  1. Assist in Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgeted figures.
  1. Implement and Monitor Internal Controls:
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets.
  • Monitor adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  1. Prepare for Audits:
  • Gather and organize documentation required for internal and external audits.
  • Address audit inquiries and provide requested information.
  1. Conduct Financial Analysis:
  • Perform variance analysis and trend analysis on financial data.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
  1. Identify Process Improvements:
  • Assess current accounting processes and systems.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  1. Cost Accounting:
  • Track and analyze costs related to production and operational activities.
  • Assist in the development of cost-control measures and pricing strategies.
  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collections, and resolving discrepancies.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks for all financial tasks, required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership experience a plus.

Work Environment

Hybrid – Office, manufacturing environment, and work from home.

Salary & Benefits
  • 80 PTO hours available after first 60 days of service.
  • Medical insurance – 100% employer contribution, participating plans.

  • 401K – 120 days eligibility is fully vested with up to a 4% match.

  • Salary range $75K-$90K, with a progressive growth plan based on performance. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary.
