Are you a mechanical engineering expert with strong hands-on experience in building system startups, commissioning, and construction oversight? Weβre looking for a highly skilled professional to lead mechanical installations, safety compliance, and contractor coordination at a major automotive manufacturing facility in Princeton, IN.
What Youβll Do:
β Lead mechanical & electrical building system startups and commissioningβ Review and approve engineering design drawings, submittals, and RFIs
β Ensure compliance with OSHA, LOTO, arc flash safety, and hazardous energy controls
β Coordinate with contractors and vendors for equipment testing, installation, and handover
β Inspect work progress, ensuring adherence to quality and project specifications
β Manage weekend and plant shutdown projects with contractors and plant teams
β Oversee mechanical contractor activities to meet milestones and coordination needs
β Prepare status reports and provide project feedback for continuous improvement
Must-Have Qualifications:
βοΈ Bachelorβs degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)βοΈ Strong knowledge of mechanical safety standards & OSHA requirements
βοΈ Expertise in building codes & industry standards (IBC, NEC, NFPA, ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)
βοΈ Experience in construction administration & project scheduling
βοΈ Ability to conduct mechanical system inspections and provide technical feedback
βοΈ Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
βοΈ Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects efficiently
Job Details:
π Location: Princeton, IN (On-site from Day 1)π Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
π Overtime: Up to 25% (weekdays, weekends, shutdowns, holidays, odd hours)
βοΈ Travel: 20% (domestic)
π· PPE Required: Steel-toed shoes, hard hat, safety glasses (provided on-site if needed)
