The role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing and monitoring medications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality mental health care in a structured setting.The ideal candidate will have expertise in psychiatric nursing, experience in mental health treatment, and a strong background in working with at-risk youth.Key Responsibilities:Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assess mental health conditions in youth.Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications based on clinical assessments.Ensure compliance with OCFS regulations, medical policies, and facility treatment guidelines.Work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and medical staff to coordinate care plans.Provide crisis intervention and manage emergency psychiatric situations as needed.Monitor the effectiveness of medications and ensure proper dosage adjustments.Attend required training and professional development sessions.Document treatment plans and progress reports per OCFS standards.Minimum Qualifications:Valid Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner License to practice in New York State.Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.Three (3) professional references (one must be from the past 12 months).Must provide services in-person (this is not a remote/telepsychiatry position).Experience working with youth populations in secure settings or juvenile justice facilities is highly preferred.Required Documentation for Consideration:Applicants must submit the following documents along with their resume.
