What You’ll do
As a Transportation Maintenance I, you will maintain trailer equipment operation by completing inspections, determining preventive maintenance requirements, determining truck deficiencies, and keeping records.- Work alongside a team of talented professionals who are passionate about their work and strive for excellence daily.

Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS- Demonstrate behaviors that exemplify Rural King’s Values: People First, Integrity, Attitude, Initiative, Teamwork, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement.
- Ensures equipment availability by completing preventative maintenance schedules and installing component and part upgrades.
- Complete dry service on equipment including lubrication of components, fluid checks, and inspection of all hoses and belts.
- Complete wet service on equipment including refilling fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield fluid, etc.)
- Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts, including tire checks.
- Maintain hub and axles and adjust or replace when required.
- Service and repair the brake, electrical, and hydraulic system.
- Ensure that equipment meets the U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements.
- Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report all findings to management.
- Have a sound understanding of repair tools, equipment, and testing machinery.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are met within the shop.
- May be required to cross-train and perform other duties.
Qualifications:
Essential Qualities for Success- At least 1 year of trailer mechanic experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn TMW and diagnostic software.
- Comfortable navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to actively listen, ask relevant questions, and provide thorough and articulate responses.
- Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
- Capability to lift 50 pounds periodically.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31-50 pounds intermittently.
- Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
- Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices.
- Close vision for computer-related activities.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.25 per hour, with exact compensation determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
