Conduct routine inspections and audits of security personnel to ensure proper implementation of security procedures & protocols.

Security Shift Supervisor Job Summary:

The Security Shift Supervisor is tasked with managing security operations and personnel and

ensure the safety and protection of individuals, property, and assets within the assigned area or

facility. They lead a team of security officers, check security systems, patrol the area, and

handle any security issues or emergencies. The Security Shift Supervisor is responsible for

enforcing security policies and procedures, providing comprehensive training and guidance to

security staff and coordinating with other departments and external agencies as necessary.

Strong communication skills, effective leadership, and the ability to remain composed under

pressure is critical for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct security staff during assigned shifts.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies as needed.
  • Train and mentor new security staff.
  • Conduct regular security checks and patrols
  • Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious activities.
  • Coordinate with management and other departments on security related issues.
  • Continuously patrol the site with the site phone, and report anything out of the ordinary.
  • Provide escort services and assist employees, as directed.
  • Assist with relieving posts for meal and break periods on schedule.
  • Respond to active alarms across the site.
  • Generate incident reports.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and perform physical tasks.
  • Required to utilize the incident command system during all incidents.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in security, with supervisor experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid state security guard card.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and/or business, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience managing a security team.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in leadership/management.
  • Previous contract security, facilities management, military or law enforcement experience
  • preferred.
  • An understanding of security operations and Incident Command System.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking and time management skills.
  • A great communicator that gets the value of teamwork.
  • Comfortable in an ever changing, fast paced, and stressful environment.
  • Able to lead a security team in complex problem solving.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug).
