This position performs a variety of account representative functions. These duties include, but are not limited to, responding to customer inquiries and complaints, providing estimates or quote prices, ensuring inventory is available to meet demand, and discussing their product needs, credit terms, and delivery dates.
This position reports to the Account Manager and has no direct reports. This is a full-time, non-exempt position., eligible for overtime for hours worked over 40. This position is on-site.Pay is commensurate with experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for handling customer inquiries, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits, and providing follow-up to ensure the customer is satisfied
- Responsible for keeping customer records, entering customer orders and filing all necessary documents.
- Review customer purchase orders and scheduling systems to forecast inventory needs
- Work closely with purchasing to ensure inventory is ordered and will arrive in a timely manner
- Prepare accurate and timely sales information and reports for management and the sales team
- Utilize corporate resources as required to nurture new accounts and retain existing accounts
- Confirms all technical information with the customer and enters orders and returns into the ERP system
- Review open orders daily ensuring customer desired delivery dates are met
- Use customer-specified electronic data interchange (EDI) for viewing product demand and sending advanced shipping notices (ASN)
- Stay current and up to date on customer market trends, and new product(s)
- Contribute to Carrdan’s market strategy by monitoring competitive products and reactions from customers (including pricing)
- Develop customer relationships to ensure Carrdan is the valued supplier of choice
- Responsible to know product availability, use, benefits, and pricing structures
- Generate new sales opportunities through referrals and development of existing accounts.
- Provide support in scheduling appointments for existing customers or new customers, as required
- When requested, conduct competitor profiles to assess how our competitors are performing in the marketplace
- Maintain complete knowledge of and compliance with company and department policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain client and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure
- Maintain a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment

- Working knowledge of CRM/ERP databases and software

- Knowledgeable regarding automotive fastener terminology preferred
- Proficient n Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
- Consult with other departments outside of customer service/sales to ensure coordination of other functions such as purchasing, logistics, accounting, and quality assurance
- This is an on-site position
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business or technical field preferred
- 2+ years of account representative experience
- Experience working in a technical or industrial organization, providing customer service and inside sales support preferred
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Physical Requirements:
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitious tasks i.e. typing and sitting in front of a computer
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug test
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some are out-of-the-area. Overnight travel will be minimal if at all.
