A social justice non-profit in San Francisco (mostly telecommute remotely) is hiring an Attorney for their immigration legal clinic that represents immigrant families and their youth in processing applications through the U.S. Citizen & Immigration Services (USCIS) system and Court proceedings.

The following are the qualifications for the Attorney position:

  • 1+ year of family- and humanitarian-based immigration experience, primarily SIJS, asylum, T & U visa cases, and DACA;
  • Removal defense experience is highly preferred;
  • Licensed to practice in a state bar;
  • Spanish language fluency (or highly proficient);
  • Positive interpersonal skills as this position will have plenty of contact with the client families and the community; and
  • Must be passionate about working with and serving individuals and families who are seeking legal immigration status.
This is a 40-hour/week job (including one-hour paid lunch break daily) with EXCELLENT work-life balance. The base salary range is $75,000 - 85,000/yr., plus an annual bonus. Our nonprofit client offers an excellent employment benefits package including 100% Kaiser Gold, dental, and vision insurance premiums covered for the employee AND dependents, 403(b) Plan with 3% match, commuter checks, 14 paid holidays, good paid vacation, sick, and parental leave.

501(c)(3) employment qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

  • Licensed immigration attorney with 2+ years of experience
  • Solid understanding of family-based immigration practice and asylum law
  • Administrative law experience preferred
  • Proven experience with client counseling
  • Visa Petitions experience
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish/English
  • Able to handle multiple assignments, work well under pressure, and have the flexibility to assist the team in meeting client demands on accelerated schedules
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
  • Must possess analytical, legal research and writing skills
