Cloud Engineer III (RDS)
Overview:
The Cloud Engineer will participate in the design, implementation, and management of cloud-based workloads. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in AWS cloud services, including but not limited to SQL/RDS, Glue, Cloud Watch, Lamba and third- party integrations.The ideal candidate will also have experience managing database technologies including SQL/RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions using appropriate AWS services.
AWS DBA experience in relational (SQL/RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL) and familiarity with NoSQL (DynamoDB) database technologies
Perform regular database administration tasks, including model updates, backups, restores, data patching, and upgrades.
Administer ETL technologies including Matillion and AWS Glue
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting and knowledge transfer.
Work with cross functional teams to plan migration of on-premises workloads to AWS
Deploy and maintain AWS infrastructure including EC2 instances, Lamba, S3 buckets, RDS databases, and other AWS native tools.
Automate tasks and processes using Pipelines, and IAC.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and applications to ensure high availability, reliability, and security.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand workload requirements and provide technical solutions.
Continuously evaluate and improve the performance, security, and cost efficiency of cloud infrastructure.
Design and implement business continuity and high availability policies for AWS workloads.
Provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate effective communication skills.
Exhibit high accountability for company guidelines regarding use of technology and security standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
At least 4-7 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS services.
In-depth knowledge of AWS services such as SQL/RDS, Lamba, S3, VPC’s, CloudWatch and experience with cloud security, automation, and monitoring tools.
Snowflake and Matillion administration experience is a plus.
Experience with on-premise Microsoft SQL Administration
AWS Certifications are a plus.
PowerBI administration is a plus.
Ability to write and maintain scripts using languages such as Python, Java, or PowerShell.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
