Responsible for the finalization of work orders, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and customer submittal documentation packages within the aerospace sector. This role ensures that all aerospace components and documentation comply with strict industry standards, including AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.

The following responsibilities are essential, with a focus on maintaining aerospace quality standards. Other duties may be assigned as needed:

  1. Verify incoming aerospace products to ensure they meet purchase order specifications and customer requirements, including adherence to aviation and defense standards.
  2. Inspect part markings for accuracy, legibility, and proper placement, in line with aerospace industry regulations.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and part specifications, ensuring conformity to aerospace manufacturing requirements.
  4. Complete and submit First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 standards and customer-specific aerospace requirements.
  5. Ensure all certifications, including material and process certifications, meet aerospace quality standards and are legible.
  6. Verify that work orders are accurately completed, ensuring all quantities are correct and align with aerospace production standards.
  7. Scan, save, and manage work orders and certifications in the aerospace-specific documentation systems.
  8. Report deviations from aerospace specifications and customer requirements to the supervisor for corrective action.
  9. Finalize and submit first articles following AS9102 guidelines and customer-specific aerospace documentation requirements.
  10. Utilize and navigate aerospace-specific software, including Net-Inspect, for document submission and quality management.
  11. Perform additional tasks as needed to support aerospace production and compliance efforts.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret aerospace-related technical documentation, business periodicals, and government regulations.
  • Strong writing skills for preparing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in an aerospace context.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, and aerospace customers.

Math Skills:

  • Proficient in basic and advanced math, including calculations relevant to aerospace components, such as rate, ratio, percentage, and tolerance measurements.
  • Ability to interpret bar graphs and aerospace-specific data visualizations.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to apply common sense to instructions and solve problems involving aerospace manufacturing variables.
  • Ability to manage complex aerospace-related issues involving multiple factors.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software.
  • Familiarity with aerospace-specific software such as Net-Inspect is required.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of related aerospace industry experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and aerospace experience.

Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong typing skills with an eye for detail, especially in aerospace documentation.
  • Excellent accuracy and thoroughness in aerospace documentation and quality checks.
