We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in the Government industry based in Indio, California. The role involves executing various accounting functions, managing accounts, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately manage accounts payable and receivable
• Post relevant details to the General Ledger as needed
• Assist in payroll tasks and utilize HR Payroll Systems
• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries
• Take payments and manage packages as necessary
• Assist with front desk duties every other Friday
• Handle incoming calls and provide information as required
• Utilize MS Word and Excel for various tasks
• Conduct auditing tasks as part of accounting functions
• Execute billing functions as necessary. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role within the government sector.
• Proficient in ADP - Financial Services.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
• Experience in Auditing is essential.
• Proficiency in Billing Functions.
• Experience with HR Payroll Systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with government accounting regulations and procedures.
