Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems including air handling units, steam absorption chiller, cooling towers, and all ancillary equipment such as pumps, valves, fans, ducting and variable air distribution units, motors/drives, compressors, thermostats, filters, and condensers; refrigeration equipment; and plumbing systems. (25%)
- Troubleshoot and repair all systems and equipment noted above. Overhaul equipment when appropriate including breaking down equipment and rebuilding equipment, replacing major components, etc. (25%)
- Advise Facility Engineer on technical aspects of capital projects such as installation/removal, overhaul, and modification of major HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing equipment. Lead and assist contractors in performing the work, if applicable. Research and recommend new equipment and procedures. (15%)
- Arrange for testing and balancing of air systems to ensure optimal ventilation and indoor air quality and comfort, and for calibration of equipment, digital and pneumatic controls, and gauges as necessary to ensure precise controls. (5%)
