Research Scientist Intern - Drug Discovery (Summer 2025)

Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVE: The R&D Internship offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative technologies for characterization of next-generation therapeutics. The intern will collaborate with a dynamic team, supporting assay development and engaging in cross-functional projects aimed at addressing emerging trends in drug discovery.

CORE DUTIES:

  1. Design, execute, and analyze experiments to support project outcomes.
  2. Maintain accurate laboratory records, including protocols, data, and analysis reports, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  3. Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to integrate findings into ongoing projects.
  4. Prepare and present progress reports and project outcomes to internal stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity and respect for others.
  6. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega’s 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.
  7. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Currently enrolled in a graduate program in a scientific discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or other related discipline).
  2. Strong foundational knowledge in experimental design and data analysis.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with mammalian cell culture and core laboratory techniques.
  2. Experience with data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad, Excel).
  3. Previous research or internship experience in a related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Ability to remain stationary at a lab bench or laminar flow hood for several hours at a time.
  2. Ability to wear protective gear (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) throughout experiments.
  3. Proficiency in operating a computer for data entry and analysis.
