Position Summary:
The Assistant Groundskeeper, along with the rest of the Grounds Maintenance team, is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Subaru Park and the WSFS Sportsplex.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $19.81.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance of the natural and artificial turf at Subaru Park and WSFS Sportsplex, including line painting, mowing, irrigation repair, fertilization, cultural practices and more.
- Perform routine maintenance of lawns, landscape beds and parking lots at Subaru Park, The Wharf and IBX Training Center. These duties include mowing, weeding, edging, chemical applications and snow removal.
- Assist in the preventative maintenance of groundskeeping equipment.
- Operation of light duty vehicles, lawn mowers, tractors etc.
- Working Philadelphia Union and Union II matches at Subaru Park, as well as other events as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Science or similar area of study, highly preferred.
- 2+ years experience in maintaining sports fields, golf courses or landscaping is required.
- Knowledge of turf maintenance equipment and tools.
- Strong written and oral skills, including the ability to communicate with coaches, players and technical staff as needed.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as; lifting and carrying 50lbs, climbing stairs and ladders, pulling tarps, etc.
- Ability to work outside in different weather conditions, including rain, snow, extreme heat and cold.
- Must be willing and able to work different shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to work long shifts for gamedays, sometimes exceeding 12 hours.
