Overview:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Experiential Design drive high-impact initiatives that align with the organization’s long-term strategies. This role leverages design thinking, strategic planning, and program development expertise to create transformative talent lifecycle experiences.

Collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, the position enhances organizational growth, boosts employee engagement, and fosters a “best place to work” culture through innovative, measurable solutions.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that align with the company’s long-term talent goals.
  • Develop and execute talent initiatives in collaboration with senior executives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on experiential strategies that enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Partner with HR, department leaders, and external vendors to ensure alignment and integration of talent initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve program offerings.

User Experience and Research:

  • Develop frameworks and processes to integrate design thinking into strategic planning.
  • Conduct user research and analysis to inform design decisions and ensure user-centric solutions.
  • Develop and implement user experience strategies that enhance customer satisfaction and engagement.
  • Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas and solutions.

Change Management Implementation:

  • Develop and implement change management strategies, including stakeholder engagement, communication plans, and training, to ensure seamless adoption of talent initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to address resistance, remove barriers, and foster a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate change efforts using feedback and adoption metrics, adjusting strategies to achieve successful organizational transformation.

Program Design and Development:

  • Develop and implement experiential programs that support talent development, talent change initiatives, and candidate and employee experiences across the talent lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify learning needs and design customized solutions.
  • Integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven tools, digital learning platforms) to innovate and scale programs effectively.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, agencies, and partners to bring experiential concepts to life.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage resistance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Performance Monitoring, Data Analysis, and Reporting:

  • Establish metrics and KPIs; develop and maintain dashboards to measure the success of strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor progress and performance, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
  • Analyze data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.

Innovation and Trends:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in experiential design.
  • Introduce innovative ideas and approaches to enhance the effectiveness and impact of experiential initiatives.
Budget and Vendor Management
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal accountability and maximizing ROI for talent programs.
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee vendor relationships, driving alignment with organizational priorities.

Scope and Competency Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, learning and development, or experiential design, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Must have general knowledge of business operations.
  • Must have experience in Learning Experience/Design
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS products and AI Tools.

  • Must be able to prioritize and spend own time and that of others on what is important; quickly zeros in on “critical few” and puts the “trivial many” aside, eliminating roadblocks.
  • Must be perseverant; pursue everything with energy and drive, and act/finish projects with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have broad technical systems knowledge of HRIS, LMS systems, and design tools. Must have experience and curiosity in technology integrations, new and emerging platforms, and technologies supporting and improving programs. Must have the ability to learn additional computer applications as necessary for the position.
  • Must have the ability to create program overviews in a written brief, PowerPoint, and verbal form and communicate program details to cross-functional stakeholder audiences.
  • Must have the ability to analyze data and make data-based decisions. Must be able to create data reports to track and measure program success

COMMUNICATIONS:

  • Must have excellent professional-level verbal and written English communication skills (grammar, diction, spelling, and punctuation) in order to communicate appropriate information accurately and clearly as needed.

MANAGEMENT:

  • Must have experience with management/oversight of vendor projects, establishing key metrics and upholding SLAs.

TRAVEL:

  • Ability to travel as required for the position. Approximate travel 20% of the time.
