Nick Corieri with Robert Half has an exciting Staff Accountant job opportunity for a growing company located in Cortland, New York. This position would be ideal for an individual who is highly analytical and thorough, has excellent Excel skills, is comfortable analyzing data files, and is interested in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities:- Participate in the financial closing process, including completing journal entries, flux analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations and provide monthly closing deliverables.
- Implement processes to optimize data integrity and process improvements.
- Assist in any accounting-related system implementations.
- Analyze data, typically to support financial transactions or data from the general ledger system, to identify and interpret patterns or trends in data sets.
- Assist with cross-functional and accounting projects.
- Develop and maintain process and control documentation for areas of responsibility.
- Meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Assist in annual external audit.
- Regular client interaction.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
- Proficiency in GAAP Accounting and US GAAP is mandatory
- Experience with Sage Intacct software is highly desirable
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to maintain client relations effectively
- Experience with journal entries and bookkeeping is required
- Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
- Must have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field is preferred.
