Collections Specialist

We are in search of a Collections Specialist to join our clients team located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. In this role, you'll be a crucial part of our team, managing customer accounts, resolving inquiries, and ensuring our operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring efficient and accurate processing of customer credit applications.
• Keeping a detailed and up-to-date record of customer credit information.
• Handling and resolving customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions when needed.
• Making regular collection calls to customers regarding past due receivables.
• Keeping track of follow-up dates and ensuring they are up-to-date.
• Approving parts, service, and rentals within the assigned credit limit.
• Negotiating approvals and payments with clients.
• Informing management or sales personnel about delinquent accounts or disputes.
• Preparing accounts for Bad Debt with appropriate documentation.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Collections Specialist role or similar within the Wholesale Distribution industry
• Expertise in managing and maintaining Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proven knowledge and experience in Collection Processes
• Demonstrable skills in performing Collections tasks
• Ability to effectively communicate and negotiate payment plans with clients
• Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools for collections
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Solid understanding of financial regulations and legislation related to collections
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve disputes amicably
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
