I'm partnered with the CFO of a manufacturer in the northern suburbs that is looking for an Assistant Controller to help lead their accounting and finance operations. My client is looking for a true change agent as they are entering into a new phase to support their growth!
As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the Accounting team through month-end close and have ownership of the financial reporting to the Controller and CFO of the group. They will empower you to make strategic decisions to amend and implement Accounting processes and procedures as you see fit to put the company in the best possible financial position.The Assistant Controller will also partner with all departments on effective costing strategies to ensure profitability in production that will aid in the company achieving their ambitious growth goals!
Job Description- Planning and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Assessing current accounting operations and evaluating internal control systems.
- Implementing, documenting, and maintaining adequate and effective accounting processes and internal controls to improve the close and reporting cycles.
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate
- Coordinating and supporting the activities of the outside CPA firm(s), including the annual financial and benefit audits and tax returns.
- Overseeing the processes and processing of day-to-day A/R and A/P functions.
- Coordinate and participate in the preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts,
incorporating historical results and future assumptions.

The Successful Applicant- Bachelors Degree in Accounting required. MBA a plus.
- C.P.A. and/or C.M.A designations are preferred, but not required.
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 1+ years of management experience
- 2+ years in a Accounting Manager level role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience in small and mid-sized businesses strongly preferred.
- Experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred, but not required.
