Overview:
The Mother Infant Unit consists of 24 beds (between the 3rd and 5th floor of the Dorrance Building). This unit specializes in the care of the post-partum couplet. The care includes frequent assessments for post-partum complications of the mother and newborn including but not limited to preeclampsia, post-partum hemorrhage, and infant hypoglycemia.This unit specializes in offering emotional support to the new dyad while also providing extensive teaching and crucial education prior to discharge.
Short Description: Assumes responsibility for record keeping, and intra-departmental and Inter-departmental communications.
Experience Required:
Previous hospital unit secretary, medical office assistant or medical records experience preferred.
Additional unit-specific qualification may be required.
Clerical, communication and customer service experience a plus.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Unit Secretary certification is desirable.
Special Requirements:
part time days, 24 hours a week
