We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in helping to manage and oversee the financial activities of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Financial Management:
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit accounting standards.
• Help manage and oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual budget.
• Provide financial analysis and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Track budget performance and provide variance analysis.
• Grant Management:
• Monitor and report on grant expenditures, ensuring compliance with donor restrictions and grant agreements.
• Prepare financial reports for grantors and funding agencies as required.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related is preferred
• Not for profit industry experience is an asset but not required
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
