Plant Controller

Robert Half is partnering with a St. George area food production facility their search for an experienced Plant Controller with a strong finance and manufacturing background. As a Plant Controller, you will be tasked with managing and overseeing the financial operations of the plant, ensuring the accuracy of financial data and implementing effective financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance accounting system records
• Prepare annual budget, financial forecasts, and regulatory reports
• Direct monthly general ledger closing process, including purchase price variance analysis, production variance analysis, cost savings, balance sheet reconciliations, and spending analysis
• Provide financial analysis and business summaries
• Identify and develop strategies for increased efficiencies and cost savings
• Manage financial transactions including accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets
• Lead personnel in monitoring and maintaining KPIs and provide performance management
• Comply with all regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in finance/accounting with 3-5 years in manufacturing, preferably in a plant controller position in the food industry
• Leadership skills and prior supervisory experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
• Ability to produce high-quality financial analysis, reports and forecasts
• Proven experience working within budgets and initiating cost savings
• Proficient at encouraging positive team dynamics
• Strong communication, decision-making and interpersonal skills
