Senior Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer
Overview:
Job Title: Senior Specialist, Manufacturing EngineerJob Location: Melville, NY
Salary: $120,000-$150,000/yr
Responsible for solving moderately complex engineering problems in one or more phases of development engineering project involving the analysis, research, design, development, fabrication, and testing of devices or systems. Assignments may be varied and somewhat difficult in character and require originality and ingenuity.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and conduct studies on specifications and requirements of the project.
- Perform original circuit design and analysis.
- Supply technical assistance and coordination to designers and staff assigned to the project.
- Provide direction to the Engineering Technician and associate Engineers while breadboarding, wiring, debugging, and testing is being performed.
- Design and plans wiring layouts and schematics.
- Plan tests to be conducted and arranges the test setup.
- Check performance of devices during tests and evaluates the results.
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment, and other engineering data.
- Specify the procurement of specialized components and test equipment.
- Assist in preparation of bids and proposals.
- Use PC-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Programs of moderate complexity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents is a plus.
- Must be familiar:
- Modeling and Simulating
- Optimizing new conceptual circuits along with evaluating, testing, tuning, and modifying circuits to meet specifications
- Amplifier design using both packaged components and bare die
- Microsoft Office proficiency
