Accounts Payable Manager

Our client, a mission-driven non-profit organization dedicated to creating positive community change, is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join their team. In this role, the Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the full accounts payable lifecycle, including but not limited to:
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor the AP team, fostering a positive environment focused on development and achieving key performance metrics.
- Process Oversight: Manage and enhance AP workflows to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reimbursements.
- Vendor Relationships: Maintain positive relationships and timely communication with vendors, negotiating payment terms when necessary.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all AP activities comply with non-profit regulations and audit requirements. Prepare and maintain accurate reports on AP metrics to provide visibility to leadership.
- System Management: Leverage AP software systems for automation and efficiency while troubleshooting issues and implementing innovative solutions.
- Budget Collaboration: Partner with finance leaders on departmental budget planning and cash flow management.
We are seeking applicants with a proven track record of accounts payable management and a passion for joining a values-driven team. A successful candidate will bring:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Non-profit experience is a strong plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AP software and ERP systems (preferred experience with [insert relevant software, if known]), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills to lead and develop a cohesive team while collaborating cross-functionally.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with non-profit regulations, Form 990 reporting, and grant accounting principles is a plus.
