Position Summary:
Directs daily workflow and assists the Imaging Services Supervisor, Imaging Services Manager, and/or Imaging Services Director.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions- Adheres and supports policies, procedures, mission statements, and strategic imperatives.
- Directs and assists with daily workflow of the imaging team with regards to supply ordering, staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
- Plans and prioritizes procedure scheduling and processing that support the needs of the patients and physicians.
- Assures images meet the established Quality Control standards.
- Provides input to supervisor for evaluations.
- Actively participates in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Utilizes Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Works with equipment project manager or manager in scheduling equipment downtime for scanners and reports any equipment problems promptly.
- Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures as outlined in the CT technologist job description.
- Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
- Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication injection with and without use of power injectors.
- Performs venipuncture and evaluatesIV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Applies principals of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
- Ensures safety of patients.
- Maintainsreasonably regular punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines and education requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/TrainingGraduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure/Certification- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida and
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and
- Maintains BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.
Six (6) months experience in CT is required.
