How you make a difference:

Are you committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in need? We are seeking a Resident Treatment Assistant (RTA) who plays a critical role in providing front-line support to residents in our living units, continuously monitoring resident and unit activities to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

As a member of the treatment team, the Residential Treatment Assistant works collaboratively to ensure the well-being of residents and the overall functioning of the living unit. Through their vigilant monitoring and active engagement with residents, the Residential Treatment Assistant contributes to creating a supportive and safe living environment for residents in need of treatment and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in implementing the Integrated Care Plan for residents under the guidance of Clinical Team Leader, Clinical Therapists, and Psychologists.
  • Promotes and maintains a therapeutic milieu on living units, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents.
  • Collaborates with Educational and Vocational Instructors, Recreation Specialists, and Unit Manager to implement unit-based activities and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Participates in behavior committee meetings, Integrated Care Plan reviews, and living unit group meetings with residents.
  • Observes, intervenes, and documents resident behavior, conducts searches for contraband, and maintains accurate logs and reports related to resident activities, behavior, and movement on the living unit.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work or criminal justice field preferred
Experience
  • Direct care experience in a mental health or forensic mental facility, security residence or correctional facility preferred.
  • Healthcare, mental health or human services experience a plus.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Healthcare, mental health or human services license or certification a plus.
