Sr. FPGA/Electrical Engineer - San Francisco

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to create new FPGA architecture, as well as analyze legacy FPGA and other embedded firmware code bases and recommend improvements to performance and functionality.
• Expert in FPGA Verification / Embedded Software, Verilog, Systems Verilog and
• VHDL.
• Skilled in RTL design, bench creation, behavioral modeling, script writing, Embedded
• Programming, and debugging.
• Programing experience Java, C/C++, and Microsoft SQL Server a definite plus.
• Thorough understanding of best practices for PCBA design, layout, FPGA selection, and
• firmware development.
• Basic knowledge of electronic packaging for optimal space and thermal considerations.
• Able to draft and clearly explain hardware programming and burn-in instructions to ensure successful transfer of specific designs
• Working knowledge of basic documentation and communication tools such as
• PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel
• Effective presentation skills and ability to communicate concepts, project status and other project dynamics to senior engineering staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in FDA design control processes.
• Experience in USB3.0 implementation and debugging resulting in a commercially
• released product.
• Proficiency with electronics design and simulation tools (ISE, Vivado, etc.).
• Ability to design and implement signal processing strategies.
• Prior experience in an agile software development environment using Github for code
• base management.
• Skilled in electronics troubleshooting and in the use of standard electronics tools (DVM,
• O-scope, Chip-Scope, frequency analyzer, USB-debugger, soldering station).

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a minimum Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 years of related product development experience. Masters degree, or higher, preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Individual will be required to lift 25lbs without harm, be able to work in a standing position for an hour at a time, and be able to position their body without additional support to obtain access to internal components of the system.
