The Sr. Cisco ACI / DCN Engineer will assist the Engagement Architect and Principal Engineer in implementation of Cisco Datacenter Networking platforms and integration of third-party services.
The candidate will will focus/contribute to at least 95% of overall workload to the delivery of services pertaining to Cisco Datacenter Networking platforms (ACI specifically).
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
The
Sr. Cisco ACI / DCN Engineer will support the Security Architecture & Engineering practice for a PS firm working on client projects alongside engagement architects, engineers and client leaders to help promote the value of the practice to current and potential clients.Our Sec A & E practice includes all areas of the datacenter that incorporate conventional route/switch technologies as well as software defined networks and solution offerings.
- Project Engagement
Develop project collateral, offerings, and supporting materials such as Method of Procedures (MoPs), etc.
Drive development of assets and intellectual property (e.g. playbooks, templates, etc.)
Provide technical expertise on ACI and Nexus technology areas.
Provide senior level engineering support for customer projects including design, implementation, testing, and support for new deployments, expansions, environment refresh and upgrades. This includes troubleshooting customer environments.
Work with the engineering teams to successfully implement ACI and Nexus solutions.
Provide routing, switching, and data center networking (Cisco NX-OS, ACI, etc.) configuration and deployment in client environments.
Provide network engineering consulting services, including assessment, design and implementation of data and secure networking environments.
Assist clients through planning, design and implementation of secure data communications networks.
Create technical deliverables including network assessments, capacity planning, detailed design documents, implementation plans, configurations, and change orders.
Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.
Assists other team members with deployment or best practices.
Hold vendor-related certifications, to enhance professional development and stay abreast of network automation skills (python, ansible, etc.). -
Client Relationships
Partner with sales and client teams to maintain, develop, and expand client relationships.
Identify and review opportunities and prioritize activities to optimize realization of pipeline.
Able to assist with initial and ongoing project mobilization as needed.-
Solution Architecture
Assist in expanding solution architecture based on expertise and capabilities.
Identify areas of improvement and work with architects & engineers to solve.
Understand the competitive landscape in the practice area.
