Trade Account Manager (Inside Sales)

This role involves managing a portfolio of specific trade third party partners, with a focus on achieving growth targets. You will be responsible for nurturing new sales leads and providing exceptional customer service to existing accounts. Building and maintaining robust relationships with Tier C & D trade partners and collaborating with internal departments such as finance and operations will also be key aspects of your role.

Additionally, you will support field-based senior account managers and work closely with the Head of Trade, as well as the trade sales and marketing function, to meet your sales targets and contribute to increasing Merlin's market share across North America.

Main Responsibilities

Commercial
  • Assume direct ownership of up to 50 regional accounts and oversee associated deliverables.
  • Provide desk-based sales support to senior account managers and their clients.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service and after-sales support to trade partners, addressing any queries or issues to ensure smooth booking processes and resolution of sales and finance queries.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Trade Sales to develop a territory sales plan that is market-specific and supports attraction event-led activity.
  • Monitor and evaluate weekly, monthly, and annual trade sales for the client portfolio.
  • Discuss and implement approved tactical sales activities with the Head of Trade Sales to align accounts with budget expectations.
  • Manage cost of sales and develop commercial efficiencies through the implementation of approved pricing and commission negotiations.
  • Develop innovative marketing opportunities through existing clients to support sales growth and the advancement of account status.
Communication
  • Report weekly sales activity to an agreed format on behalf of their accounts to the Head of Sales, reflecting on particular wins and challenges and forecasting potential changes to deliverables.
  • Collate a monthly sales return based on supplied analytics focusing on key and regional accounts and territory
  • Act as a conduit between the marketing function and the key clients ensuring all product and attraction information is delivered in an appropriate and timely way
  • Represent Merlin Entertainments in any appropriate and approved industry or partner events
  • Deliver client product training and presentations to support third party knowledge and sales development
Resource Management
  • Effectively manage time to meet the regional requirements of the role while ensuring its sustainability.
  • Respond promptly to all internal and external correspondence.
  • Manage personal expenditure, ensuring it aligns with business needs and budget constraints.
  • Execute marketing activations focusing on core messages and distribution channels, as per the pre-defined campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Sales Support Executives and Ticketing and Merchandising Managers to ensure Accesso merchandising is current and accurate.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education
  • 2+ years in sales account management ideally within hospitality, theme parks, restaurants or hotels.
  • Skilled communicator with a strong commercial acumen
  • Passionate and driven individual, with demonstrative enthusiasm for sales and people engagement
  • Creative problem solver using data-driven approaches
  • Flexible with fast-changing priorities and fast-paced environments
  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking, and hands-on capability
  • Ownership, accountability, and passion for personal growth
  • Proficient in Excel for report creation and updates
  • Proficiency in foreign languages a plus!
